HOW we CONTRIBUTE
Who we are, what we do, and how we contribute to this world matters - it's that simple. At Wander, giving back is part of our purpose and why we exist.
The Wander Project is a proud Member of 1% For The Planet, a global network of businesses, nonprofits and individuals working together to create a healthy planet. Collectively Members have given tens of millions of dollars to the environment, and our nonprofit partners are doing the hard work of restoring our planet for the future.
1% for the Planet was started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia (my ultimate crush company) and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies. Both successful (and admired) entrepreneurs, they recognized the power of collective action to protect the environment.
Today businesses, like The Wander Project, and individuals continue to make the 1% for the Planet commitment, creating greater impact every year.
The American Cancer Society (ACS) is the largest private, not-for-profit source for cancer research funds in the United States and has had a hand in nearly every major cancer breakthrough.
Identified as one of Seattle’s premier black tie affairs, the Seattle Hope Gala is a unique dining experience on behalf of the ACS featuring some of Seattle’s most notable chefs and award-winning regional winemakers. This unique event brings together Seattle leaders for a celebration of the advances made in cancer treatment and prevention programs and an opportunity to raise needed funds for the mission.
As the former Seattle Hope Gala Co-Chairman and now Legacy Circle Ambassador, I have the honor of leading and sponsoring the first Young Professionals Group here in Seattle creating a greater ability to support research, education, advocacy and service programs for this life-giving mission through increased funding by young professionals.
